Malam Team Awarded 3-A Tender
21 Jul 2009

Israel’s Internal Security Ministry selected Malam Team to implement AAA (3-A), a national project to establish an automated electronic enforcement system that will contribute to the battle against traffic accidents by increasing the efficacy of enforcing the various traffic regulations and changing behavioral norms among drivers.

The first stage is estimated to be approximately NIS 100 million. The development and installation stage, which will begin in 2009, and take about one year to perform, is estimated to be approximately NIS 25 million. The agreement to operate and maintain the system is for a 12-year period at an estimated cost of approximately NIS 6 million per year.

Malam Team will set up an electronic system that can provide indubitable evidence of moving violations. It will post 50 end units (based on technology developed by the Gatso Meter company of Holland) on roads and intersections around the country in order to identify violations such as driving faster than the speed limit and ignoring red lights. In the future, there are plans to expand the system to include approximately 300 active end units and additional services.

Jacob Peron, who is the director of the security division at Malam Team and responsible for the project, said, “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the entire wonderful team at Malam Team as well as the Gatso Meter company, Malam Team Systems, Netcom, and the H.Mr. company, who all worked night and day and contributed greatly to our successful bid for the tender.”
